31st Inverness (Aviemore) Scout Group — APPEAL

PLEASE READ AND SPREAD THE WORD! WE NEED HELP!!! For nearly 28 years years 31st Inverness (Aviemore) Scout Group have been meeting at the Old Telephone Exchange building in Aviemore (near to the MacDonalds Resort complex, to the rear of Tesco) but the time has come for us to move on. The party that own the building have always been supportive of the group but they have future plans for the site. We acknowledge that they have allowed us to keep meeting in the current building to give us time to find alternative accommodation. The time in the current meeting place has now come to an end so we need to move. The group has been on an annual rolling lease since 2010 and despite some positive leads have not been able to secure a suitable new meeting location for the Beaver Colony (age 6-8) Cub Pack (aged 8 – 10) and Scout Troop (aged 11 -15) who meet there on a weekly basis during term time. The Brownies, Rainbows and Guide also use the building on a weekly basis taking the number of young people involved in activities at the hall to well over 100. By June we will need a new home, if one isn’t found the groups will cease to exist. Scouting and Guiding offer fantastic and varied opportunities for the young people involved and really add to the community so here it is… A CALL FOR HELP!! Do you have a building/hall/shed that might be suitable for any of these sections to meet on a weekly basis? If you can help please contact the Scout Leader, Pete Wright at pete.aviemore@gmail.com with any offers of help, ideally a location in Aviemore would best to reduce travel for the majority of the members, but other areas are not being ruled out. Hopefully someone, somewhere in the community will be able to help out these fantastic youth organisations. Once we find a new location we are always keep for new members and leaders, please get in touch for further details.
